Introduction:
The purpose of this study program is to lay a strong foundation of the Word of God in your life, and to bring you into an intimate relationship with Christ. As you study the lesson plans, you will learn how to study and understand the bible. You will need to have access to several different bible translations so that a full understanding of the verse is brought to light. You will also learn how to use the Greek and Hebrew translations to get the full meaning of the Word. If you don't have different translations at hand, you can obtain most of what you need from online bible study tools. Some links to those web sites can be accessed from this site, or you can do a google search.
Lesson I
Christ the WordI. A relationship with the Word
St. John 1: 1 says, " In the beginning was the Word. the Word was with God, and the Word was God." This verse tells us that the Word is Christ. Therefore, if we have a relationship with God, then we must have a relationship with the Word. I John 1-4 says that Jesus is the Word of life and the Word is revealed to us. Through the Word, God is made known to us. Fellowship with the Father and the Holy Spirit is through His Word Jesus Christ. A lot of people say that they love Jesus, but they do not know His Word. An intimate relationship with Christ is not possible without the Word dwelling in your heart. The abiding Word in your heart produces a change in your life and you become a new person. Colossians 3:16 states, "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom..."
